Llanelli’s greatest heroes are back for another day of fun in the town centre as Llanelli Superhero Day returns on Wednesday 23rd February.
Fan-favourite characters such as Batman, the Joker, Iron Man, Black Widow and more are all part of our action-packed lineup, while three legendary Batmobile replicas, as seen in the 1966, 2008 and 2016 Batman films, will be on display for you to marvel at!
This free Ymlaen Llanelli event will see a procession of the three Batmobiles driving into Stepney Square at 12pm, with superheroes and villains meeting and greeting the public until 3pm.
Chair of Ymlaen Llanelli, Lesley Richards, is thrilled to be holding the popular event again: “Superhero Day is always a great day in Llanelli town centre – this is our fifth time holding this particular event and everyone is more excited than ever!
“This will also be the first event for our two new town centre ambassadors, who will be there on the day to help make sure that everyone has a good time. They don’t have superhero outfits, but you’ll be able to spot them in their lovely red AmbassadorElli jackets!”
The AmbassadorElli scheme launched last week following Ymlaen Llanelli’s successful application to the Uk Government’s UK Community Renewal Fund, in partnership with Llanelli Town Council and Carmarthenshire County Council. The ambassadors’ role is to support Llanelli town centre businesses and to help the public with any queries, while also flagging up any issues and supporting our team at events.
Llanelli Superhero Day kicks off our 2022 programme of events, and will be followed up by Llanelli’s Dinosaur Eggstravaganza on Tuesday 12th April during the Easter half term holiday.
With the easing of Covid restrictions allowing more steadfast plans to be made, other events to look forward to in 2022 include the return of Llanelli 80s Festival on Saturday 25th June, as well as Llanelli Vintage Festival and Llanelli Food and Drink Festival later in the year.
