There were some soggy pancakes in town today, but no soggy spirits as a new team took home the annual Ymlaen Llanelli Pancake Race trophy!

With only one pancake day a year (sadly), we make sure this race takes place come rain or shine - and rain it did!

Despite that, we had a great laugh with our six teams. After three relay race heats, the Llanelli Town Council admin team were crowned this year's top tossers – as a non-politcal organisation we'd just like to reiterate that this is just the official marketing line of the race!

We host our annual pancake race in Stepney Street on Shrove Tuesday each year, inviting teams of four from town centre businesses to take part in a relay race, flipping pancakes as they go. Our other teams this year were Opulence, Delta Wellbeing, Heno S4C, Llanelli Rural Council, and Llanelli Multicultural Network.

Entry fees for the race and donations from spectators raised £120 for Morgan’s Army, supporting families of children with cancer in South Wales.

Thank you to all our teams for their support, and to Jenkins Bakery for supplying the all important pancakes!
