Hundreds of children with their parents and guardians popped into to Llanelli Town Centre this half term to see The Circus Skills Spectacular on Wednesday the 21st February…

At the event – there was circus entertainment, stilt walkers who were also jugglers, face painting, a magician, a craft workshop, balloon modelling, not forgetting the mini fun fair rides…  with entertainment also continuing in the upstairs of Llanelli Library… phew..!

There were HUGE queues, as children took delight in having their face painted for free; many, fascinated by the circus entertainers, also ‘had a go’ at the circus skills workshop, and scores of children were delighted to take home a modelled balloon.

Many shops – especially the eateries – noticed the number of people… I understand that one bakers in town sold out of sausage roles… the event certainly capitalised on promoting the FREE PARKING day.

Ymlaen Llanelli (Llanelli BID’s) board members also got involved in the day – with Lesley Richards, Chair of Ymlaen Llanelli & Manager of the Nationwide Building Society in Llanelli Town – getting her hands dirty, helping with the craft workshop & Llanelly House kindly lent their Town Crier – Rev Eldon Phillips – for the day who was in full costume & voice all adding to the ambiance of the event.

It has brought Llanelli Town Centre a huge amount of publicity… not just with people visiting on the day, but also in the press coverage after the event… promoting our town as a vibrant place to visit.

Well done again to Mandy, Ymlean Llanelli Manager, for organising such a good event.
